Featuring 2 Sir Henry Cotton-designed golf courses, including an 18-hole championship golf course, the 146-hectare estate features tennis courts, a FIFA regulation-size soccer field and a jogging track. The town of Alvor, minutes from the hotel, offers quaint shops and beautiful 16th-century churches.No matter how elaborate your event or how important your business meeting, we will do our best to ensure success. We have three conference rooms to suit every type of conference, meeting, seminar, workshop or product launch. The main conference room offers audio-visual equipment, translation, audio recording and microphone systems and computer rentals.The Algarve, with its pleasant climate, is a perfect place for sports and leisure enthusiasts. Golf ranks high among things to do and there are numerous golf courses to test even the most ardent player.The hotel is home to the exclusive and challenging 18-hole Sir Henry Cotton championship golf course and a new 9-hole resort course. There is also an extensive golf driving range and a huge putting green.The beach is 10 kilometres from the hotel (with complimentary transfers from June to the end of September). The hotel is on the south coast of Portugal, halfway between the traditional fishing port of Portimão and the historic town of Lagos. The nearest town, with shops, local entertainment and a casino, is only four kilometres from the resort in Portimão.Penina Golf & Resort offers a wide range of sporting and recreational facilities with 2 golf courses, an 18-hole championship golf course and a 9-hole resort course. The hotel has a golf academy for golfers of all levels and offers a five-day instruction programme. Practice lessons are given in groups and must be booked in advance. The resort also offers a golf driving range, practice holes and putting greens.Other sporting facilities include five hard-surface tennis courts. Court fees and Academy tennis lessons are available from the hotel's reservation centre.The FIFA regulation-size football pitch. There is also a three-kilometre jogging/walking track with 12 exercise stations for individuals or families. Use of the track is complimentary to guests.A fully-equipped complimentary gym is available. The snooker table is available to guests over 18 years of age for a fee. Water sports are available from June to September. A complimentary shuttle service to and from the beach is available throughout the season. Complimentary access to the outdoor pool, sun beds and towel service is provided for residents.Kangaroo, Penina's only children's facility, offers a variety of activities and includes an adventure play area, pool and slide, childcare, toys, craft materials. Bicycles, movies and a bouncy castle are additional amenities for children. Kangaroo is open from Easter to the end of October and during Christmas and New Year, seven days a week.
