The hotel is located in the fishing village of Sagres, in the Algarve. This pousada enjoys a superb position on the cliff-top, overlooking Sagres fort and the lighthouse of Cape St. Vincent, the most south-westerly corner of Europe. Faro Airport is about 115 km away. Since its construction in 1960, the pousada has been constantly improved to cater to the increasing number of visitors who want to see this most south-westerly corner of Europe and to learn something of the history of the man who gave his name to it, Infante D. Henrique, Portuguese for Prince Henry, the son of King Joo I and his English-born queen Philippa Lancaster, who founded a navigation school here early in the 15th century. It has 51 rooms in total, as well as air conditioning, a 24-hour reception and check-out service, a hotel safe, lift access, a caf, bar, TV room, restaurant, conference facilities and room service. Internet access and a laundry service are available for a fee. Parking facilities are also available. The rooms all have private balconies and sea views. The hotel also offers two disability-friendly rooms. An en suite bathroom, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, a minibar, washing machine, air conditioning and a safety deposit box are provided in all rooms. Terraces also feature. Guests may take advantage of the outdoor swimming pool, as well as the sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols. The nearby beach is sandy and comes with sun loungers and parasols (both subject to fees). Breakfast, lunch and dinner may be selected from a buffet. Lunch and dinner can be chosen from the set menu or taken la carte. Special dietary requirements can be catered for.
