It became the residence of an important family in what was one of the noblest districts of Funchal in the late 19th century.The manor house and its extensive gardens have been carefully restored to create a world of serenity and luxury right in the heart of this lovely old district. Although the original building has been added to, the architectural splendour can still be appreciated.
