Destination
The small settlement Loutra is located far from the too lively atmosphere of the most famous resorts of Halkidiki and will allow you to combine relaxation, thermal SPA experience with night life while on holidays.
Loutra today is a small tourist village with its residents mainly dealing with fishing, beekeeping, olive growing and tourism. This destination for sure will attract agricultural tourism lovers as well.
The story says that after the World War II the local residents blew up the rocks in the sea and the hydrosulfide water of 39 degrees C sprang out from the sleeping volcano. Thus, the modern SPA resort famous for its healing properties of water appeared. The resort offers swimming pools, saunas and hammam. Naturally pure and rich in mineral salts, iodine, CO2, calcium, magnesium, sulphates, chloride and alcalia, thermal water is recognized for its therapeutic properties, particularly those that concern skin.
Thermal water has been used for thousands of years to heal arthritis, joint pain and burns. Thanks to its purifying effect and antioxidant properties it will be great if you have very sensitive skin or suffer from eczema, rosacea, or psoriasis. Your skin will become softer and the rashes due to skin diseases will become less noticeable and could disappear completely.
